If any of your party have COVID 19 symptoms prior to your visit please do not travel to Scourie Guesthouse. 

New Procedures

Our priority is your safety, ensuring you have a lovely stay, and making sure we do our best to keep our guests and community safe.
We are taking extra measures to ensure that the risk from Coronavirus is kept to the absolute minimum.

Checking In

  • Check-in and check-out will be done with ‘social distance’ in mind.

  • Please use the sanitiser by the door when you come into the house.

  • On check in, once you’ve rung the doorbell please enter and wait, again keeping social

    distancing in mind. If you prefer to self-check in, please let us know in advance and we will

    leave the room key in the door and let you know where to go.

  • If we are with guests at the entrance when you arrive, please stay in your car until we are

    available to check you in. If the weather permits you are of course welcome to wait outside

    whilst enjoying the views.

  • Payment for most bookings will have been taken 30 days in advance. If you paid a deposit at

    the time of booking (booked prior to May 2021), we will debit your card with the balance of your stay on arrival. This will be done through our booking system and means you won’t need to use the card machine.

  • Prior to arrival, we will email and ask you to complete an online registration form. If you have not been able to do this in advance we will ask you to fill one in on arrival. Government Guidelines require us to take contact details (email address/ mobile phone number) and details of your last and next place of accommodation.


Enhanced Cleaning

  • We’ve always had very high cleaning standards, but we will be extra careful sanitising areas that you are most likely to touch such as door handles, window openings, blind cords etc.

  • Soap dispensers will be sanitised as part of our cleaning regime.

  • Consumables such as tea, coffee and toilet roll will be replaced after each guest, even if they

    are unused.

  • Tea trays and glasses etc. will be removed, sanitised, and replaced for each set of guests.

  • We are sorry but we won’t be doing room tidies during your stay. We will be happy to replace

    items such as cups and towels with clean one’s on request.


  • Guests can choose to eat in the breakfast room or be served breakfast in their own room. We have three rooms but can only serve two tables at a time in our breakfast room so times will be subject to availability (first come first served). There will be a choice of hot and cold drinks, cereals, fruit, yogurt, full Scottish breakfast or hot filled rolls, and some sweet treats. If restrictions change, so will we.


Evening Meals

  • We will provide information on local eateries by email before your stay. Some restaurants will be providing takeaways only and we would recommend booking or ordering well in advance so as not to be disappointed. Details are in our online guidebook;

  • We can supply plates and cutlery in your room if you want to bring in takeaway food, if restaurants and pubs remain shut. There is a small silent fridge in each room if you want to bring your own in room picnic!

During your stay

  • Please keep up with your hand washing and social distancing whilst you are with us. We will provide sanitiser in the entrance and handwash in the rooms.

  • Please ask that guest do not congregate in the entrance or hallways so as not to impede the movement of other guests.

  • If you exhibit virus symptoms or test positive while staying with us, you will be asked to check- out and return home as per Government guidelines on travelling. Should you be unable to travel and are required to self-isolate with us you will be charged for each additional night you spend with us. You, and anyone staying in the same room, must remain in your bedroom during self-isolation. We can arrange to have food and medical supplies delivered to your room, at an additional charge.

Checking Out

  • On checkout please open the windows (unless it’s letting the rain in!) and leave the key in the bedroom door.

    Cancellation Terms (in addition to our standard terms)

  • If you need to postpone your stay because you have COVID 19 symptoms or have been told to self-isolate, please let us know as soon as possible. We will either refund your deposit. Proof will be required.

  • If you need to cancel your stay because of travel restrictions where you live, we will refund payment in full upon proof of address.

  • If we need to close the B&B due to government restrictions, or because we need to self- isolate, we will contact you as soon as we can. Any payment will be returned in full. We will also try our best to recommend a similar property locally provided they are also allowed to open.
